Coating of foils

The company of TSTI Tech in Korea, a subsidiary of JWE manufactures so-called track systems for cleaning and resist coating of wafers or glass plates and developers for photo resist. They used their know how also to develop a foil and film coating machine, which has been designed for the deposition of PSA pressure sensitive adhesives on foils.

PSA or pressure sensitive adhesives forms a bond when pressure is applied to it. It can be used to sticking polarizer foils to LCD screens, adhering antireflective or anti-static coatings or protecting a surface with a hard coating.
The foil coating machine is using a slit nozzle on a scanning system and integrates various processes like coating, drying and hardening. It has a wide range of applications for films used in the FPD (flat panel display) industry.

Another technology for film coating is sputter technology. JWA is constructing machines for coating foils with TCOs transparent conductive oxides.

Here you can see an indium tin oxide ITO sputter machine from JWA for deposition of ITO films on foil for the manufacturing of touch screen displays.
