Cette page-ci décrit la technologie de rectification sans centre, ainsi que les rectifieuses correspondantes produites par Koyo Machine Industries. Dans les rectifieuses sans centre, un pièce en travail est supporté par une lame de repos et placé entre une roue régulatrice de gomme qui le fait tourner et une meule rotative. Koyo reste le concurrent principal du monde pour la technologie de rectification sans centre avec des machines comme notre système de réglage CNC à 15-axes.
La rectification sans centre est une procédure de meulage du diamètre extérieur. Différent aux autres procédures cylindriques où le pièce en travail est soutenu dans la rectifieuse entre des centres, dans notre cas le pièce n'est pas contraint pendant le processus d'etre rectifié sans centre. C'est pourqoui dans nos machines, les pièces n'ont pas besoin d'un trou de centrage ni d'un dent d'impulsion ou d'un dispositif de tête de serrage. Au lieu de cela, le pièce en travail est supporté dans la rectifieuse à son diamètre extérieur par une lame de repos et une roue régulatrice. On le fait tourner entre une meule rotative à haute-vitesse et une roue régulatrice d'un diamètre plus petit moins vite.

On pose la lame de la rectifieuse normalement à une position qui met le centre du pièce en travail plus haut que la ligne virtuelle entre le centre de la roue régulatrice et celui de la meule rotative. En outre, la lame tient un angle pour assurer que le pièce est fixé entre la lame et la roue régulatrice. La roue régulatrice est fait d'une matière douce come la gomme et peut contenir des matières en grain dur pour obtenir une bonne traction entre le pièce en travail et la roue.
Avec une rectifieuse sans centre on peut atteindre une excellente rondeur du pièce en travail. Par la simultanité de l'usinage et de la suspension de la surface du pièce néanmoins, il est possible que des irrégularités de rondeur se produisent, qui sont typique pour la procédure. L'ajustage minutieux de la machine et de la géométrie de la fente de rectification est essentiel. Quand un point haut entre en contact avec la roue régulatrice, à l'autre coté du pièce en travail, un point bas va être rectifié. Mais ce point bas ne doit pas être exactement en face. La rectifieuse doit être installée de sorte qu'un polygone se forme avec un tel grand nombre de'angles que finalement il sera à peu près rond.

Koyo is using on a large percentage of its grinding machines grinding wheels of cubic boron nitride cBN or diamond wheels. For the series 30 and 45 grinding machines a special dressing and truing system is available as an option: electrical discharge truing E-dt.
There are mainly two different types of centreless (centerless) grinding:
In-feed grinding
The work piece can have different outer diameters over the length and
either only part of the work piece is ground or the total work piece is
ground using an adapted grinding wheel.
Thru-feed grinding
Cylindrical work pieces can be ground using this method. The work piece
can be longer than the grinding wheel and will still be ground over the
full length. It is also possible to grind small work pieces with this
method. In this case, several work pieces are ground same time in the
machine and high throughput can be achieved.
