Aceasta pagina descrie tehnologia rectificarii fara centre dar si a masinilor de rectificat ale firmei Koyo Machine Industries. La rectificarea fara centre, piesa se sprijina pe o tija de ghidare si este fixata de o roata de ghidare care actioneaza piesa si de o roata de rectificat care prelucreaza prin aschiere suprafetele. Koyo Machine Industries este lider mondial in producerea de masini de rectificat de mare precizie, fara centre, cu comanda CNC cu pana la 15 axe.
Rectificarea fara centre apartine procesului de rectificare rotunda. Opusul rectificarii rotunde unde piesa vine prinsa intre niste varfuri, la rectificarea fara centre, piesa nu necesita o prindere in prealabil. Astfel, in acest caz piesa este sustinuta in masina de rectificat de o tija de sustinere si de rola de ghidare. Piesa se roteste intre piatra de rectificat care se invarte mai rapid decat rola de ghidare mai mica in diametru.

Tija de sustinere a masinii de rectificat este pozitionata de obicei astfel incat centrul piesei sa se afle peste linile de legatura imaginare, intre centrele rolei de ghidare si a rotii de rectificat. Tija de ghidare este putin inclinata pentru fixarea piesei intre tija si rola de ghidare. Rola de ghidare este dintr-un material moale de obicei dintr-un amestec de cauciuc care poate sa contina granulatii care au rolul de a asigura o tractiune buna intre piesa si rola.
Tehnica de rectificare fara centre poate sa creeze rotunjiri foarte precise. Prin stocarea si prelucrarea suprafetei piesei in acelasi timp, pot aparea greseli, asa zisele erori de proces. Reglarea corecta a masini si a geometriei de rectificare este intotdeauna, foarte importanta. Cand un punct inalt al piesei atinge rola de ghidare, are loc o aschiere pe partea opusa. Acel loc aschiat nu are voie sa fie exact pe diametrul opus al punctului cel mai inalt. Masina de rectificat trebuie astfel reglata, incat sa reiese o forma poligonala cu foarte multe canturi, iar piesa sa capete prin rectificare o forma aproape rotunda.

Koyo foloseste pentru masinile sale intr-un procent ridicat, pietre de rectificat din nitrura de bor cubica sau pietre de rectificat din diamant. Pentru masinile de rectificat din serile 30 si 45, ajustarea se face printr-o metoda speciala de descarcare electrica (electrical discharge truing). E-dt.
Se deosebesc 2 metode de rectificare fara centre:
rectificare cu avans transversal
Piesa poate sa aibe mai multe diametre, se pot prelucra doar anumite diametre sau la o reglare corespunzatoare a pietrei de rectificat,
se poate rectifica intreaga piesa.
rectificare cu avans continuu
Piesele de forma cilindrica se pot prelucra incontinuu. Piesa poate fi mai lunga decat piatra de rectificat si totusi poate fi rectificata
pe intreaga lungime. Si piese de dimensiuni mai mici pot fi prelucrate. Acest lucru avand avantajul ca se rectifica odata mai multe piese
si se pot atinge capacitati de rectificare foarte mari.
