Koyo is using on a large percentage of its machines grinding wheels of cubic boron nitrid cBN or diamond wheels. For the almost all surface grinding machine a special dressing and truing system is available as an option: electrical discharge truing E-dt.

KVD type Koyo vertical double disk grinding machines.

In the KVD (Koyo Vertical Disc) Series of surface grinders, large angular-thrust and ultra-precise roller bearings are used in the wheel spindle to ensure high-precision grinding.  The slim column design is ideal for space-saving integration with automatic loading/unloading and gauging systems.  These machines have gained world-wide acceptance in automotive, bearing, home appliance, and communications industries.

Workpieces are placed in pockets of the rotary carrier plate and pass between the upper and lower grinding wheels.  For ceramics, piston rings, roller bearings, gears, etc.

The combination of rotary carrier and oscillation functions used in this method achieve high efficiency.  For vanes, etc.

Workpieces are placed in a fixture jig plate which swings to the center of the spindle for grinding. For rings, rotors, etc.

Clamped by collet chucks, workpieces are forced to rotate while the jig table swings 180° for grinding.   For   covers, etc.

R-type Koyo rotary table type surface grinding machines.

The R (Rotary Table) Series of surface grinders have been developed in response to customer demand. They come equipped with various capabilities to meet many grinding applications. R-type machines are available in various sizes and with one or two spindles. Several smaller work pieces might be ground simultanously with one grinding wheel.
